Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is 1,5 spaced; uses a 12-point font; crimson text, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines

  1. General Guidelines 

Manuscripts written in this journal must meet the following criteria:

  1. Articles must be original, research-based, unpublished, and not being reviewed for publication in other journals; 
  2. Manuscript is typed according to the journal template in 6000-8000 words;
  3. The manuscript has to include this following contents: 

1) Title 

2) Author's name 

3) Affiliation 

4) Abstract in English  

5) Keywords (3-5 words) 

6) Abstract in Indonesian 

7) Keywords (3-5 words) 

8 ) Introduction 

9) Method  

10) Results and Discussion 

11) Conclusion 

12) Bibliography 

  1. The manuscript has composition: 25 % introduction, 10 % method, 50 % results and discassion, and 15 % conclusion; 
  2. Abstract written in 150-200 words in Indonesian and English. The abstract must contain the title, objectives, methods, and result;
  3. The author’s academic degree doesn’t need to be written.
  4. Papers will be reviewed and edited without changing any substantial content.
  5. Articles submitted to this journal use Mendeley or  Zotero to manage footnotes and bibliography following the  Chicago 15th Edition Style.  
  6. Arabic words written in the text are written in accordance with transliteration guidelines based on the Joint Decree of the Minister of Religion of the Republic of Indonesia and the Minister of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia Number 158/1987 and 0543.b/U/1987, dated January 22, 1988.

All manuscript should be prepared according to the following author guidelines in the Microsoft Word article template. Manuscript tamplate can be download here.

  1. Review of Manuscript 

The editor cheks the manuscript suibitability with the focus and scope and for checking plagiarism. Manuscripts that have the suibitability  the focus and scope and the has no similaty more than 20% can be forwarded to the review stage by one of the peer review or editorial board members. Editorial board members at this stage will assess the manuscript into a rejected manuscript, resubmit, accepted with revision or accepted. 

  1. Revision of Articles 

Manuscript that accepted with revision is retumed to the author for revision. The revision duration to more than 2 wekks. Revision is the responsibility of the author. Manuscript that not revised by the author can’t be published.

This paper will be published in Syariah: Journal of Fiqih Studies after going through a peer-reviewed process and being decided “Accepted” by the Editor. The layout of the final paper will be reproduced by the Editorial Office of Syariah: Journal of Fiqih Studies. The final paper layout in PDF type, known as "Uncorrected Evidence" should corrected by the Author. The proof of the last correction will be published first in the pre-issue “Article In Press” Paper documents submitted to this journal (in MS Word file) should be arrarged as follows:

  1. Bodytext of the paper article
  2. Picture Captions and Table Captions

Each table must be typed, and consecutively numbered. They should have a brief informative title placed as a heading. Tables should be understable without reference to the text, but they should be referred to in the text. Explanatory caption should be brief and placed beneath the table. Please note that numbering of tables should be differ from the numbering of figures.

Paper Title

The title of the paper should be concise, specific, informative, and complete. Author also can add a second title to narrow down the problems discussed in the paper.

Author Name and Affiliate Name

Write Author(s) without title and professional positions such as Prof, Dr, Production Manager, etc. Do not abbreviate your last/family name. Always give your First and Last Name (Full Name). Write clear affiliations of all Authors. Affiliations include: name of department/unit, (faculty), name, of university, address, country, include email address.

Abstract and Keywords

The article should be accompanied by an abstract in the Indonesian and English. Abstracts written concisely, clearly, intact, independently and completely describe the essence of the overall content of the writing. Abstracts are written with a limit of 150-200 words. The abstract should be able to provide information to the reader about the background, objectives, methods, and results of the research. Use proper diction so that it can describe the results of your research effectively.

Use 3-5 keywords/key phrases that  reflect your article idea. Without naming the institution, rules,  and  location.

8.5. introduction

The introduction contains about the background of writing articles that contain academic anxiety and can be supplemented with statistical data. The author should include a previous study (literaturereview) to show the expertise of the study. Previous studies came from scientific journal articles that had been published first. This is to show  the state of the art. At least 10 articles published in the last 3-5 years.  The author should point out the advantages and disadvantages of previous research, then showed what  Anda expects from  Anda's work(to solve these limitations) formulated in the research objectives. Ideally, the introduction amounts to 10% of the total words in the discussion. The background contains the main questions on the issues to be discussed (researchquestion) and find asolution.

8.6. Methods (for research-based articles)

If the results of writing are empirical research using certain methods, then it can be explained how the method is applied.

Contents/Results and Discussion

The results of the study should be written clearly and concisely. The results of the study should better summarize the findings of the study rather than detailed data. It is advisable to provide a review of the differences between your results or findings and previous research. Discussion is the most important part of your article. Here, you get the opportunity to explore your data. It usually begins with a summary of the research findings and is then discussed with various theories or related references. The theory or reference used must be accompanied by a clear source of reference.

In discussion, it is the most important section of your article. Here you get the chance to sell your data. Make the discussion corresponding to the results, but do not reiterate the results. Often should begin with a brief summary of the main scientific findings (not experimental results). The following components should be covered in discussion: How do your results relate to the original question or objectives outlined in the Introduction section (what)? Do you provide interpretation scientifically for each of your results or findings presented (why)? Are your results consistent with what other investigators have reported (what else)?

Conclusion

Conclusions should answer the objectives of research. Tells how your work advances the field from the present state of knowledge. Without clear Conclusions, reviewers and readers will find it difficult to judge the work, and whether or not it merits publication in the journal. Do not repeat the Abstract, or just list experimental results. Provide a clear scientific justification for your work, and indicate possible applications and extensions. You should also suggest future experiments and/or point out those that are underway.

8.9. Reference

Footnote writing guidelines and reference lists using the Chicago Citation Style 15th Fullnote. How to citation and write is recommended using reference manager  Zotero or Mendeley. the references used in the article are at least 25 sources. The references have to include relevant journal articles in the last 5 years. Journal references should include all authors' names and initials, year of publication, title of paper, journal titles in full, volume number and first and last page numbers.
